DD (3.5) suddenly very tired - would you worry?

DD gets 11.5 - 12 hours good sleep a night and for the last few days has been falling asleep (deeply asleep) in the afternoon as well. Coupled with the fact that she had a nosebleed in her sleep a few weeks ago - would you worry - and if so what about?

I wouldn't worry but I would pop her to the GP. Any night sweats/bruising? She she eating OK?
She could be anaemic, it's very common in children.

I would wait a few days she may just have a wee virus she's getting over. If it persisted for a week or so I maybe would start to wonder, I dont know what abotu exactly - I am master at worrying about something but never being quite sure WHAT.

what sort of bruising - something other than the fact that when she is tired she looks like she has 2 black eyes? (she always has done) or on her legs where she walks into stuff?

No night sweats that I know of - she is certainly not sweaty when she poddles down in the morning.

I think I will take her to the GP anyway on a 'just in case' basis.

(said child is of course running around squealing with her brother now )

She's probably getting something out of her system. Excess sleep/lack of sleep and dehydration can cause dark rings around the eyes. Little ones do walk into things, lots of large bruises are abnormal though. If she's eating and drinking as normal then try not to worry. Diabetes in children can be difficult to diagnose though so it's always worth getting her checked over, especially as she's tired.

Thanks - I am sure I am worrying about nothing, but I think I will let the GP tell me so tomorrow . I don't even know what I think I am worrying about, really, but the nosebleed (even though it hasn't recurred) didn't seem right either - her pillow/sheet/teddy were fairly well soaked.

She could just be a little anaemic, especially as it sounds like a bad nose bleed.

I hope all is OK though.

GP reckons nosebleed was unrelated. Her glands are up, so he is going for post-viral as a guess and says leave it be for the moment as long as she is eating/drinking and being herself when she is awake.

She went to bed at 9 last night (holidays ) and I had to wake her up at 9:45am to get her to the doctors .
