Posted this in general health first by mistake. Hello, I wonder if any of you can suggest anything.

Dd (4) has been complaining of tummy ache for about a week now and has had hardly any appetite. She hasn't had a good meal since last saturday. iirc.

She has picked and nibbled at teeny amounts since then. Even not managing biscuits and Mcdonalds!shock
Her poo's have been slightly lighter than usual (but she hasn't eaten much atall) and almost gluey and elasticy in texture. Frothy maybe.

She has also said her arms ache
She has been more floppy and thumb sucky than usual but I suppose she has no energy due to the little food she's eaten. Inbetween floppy moments she's happy ,talking, playing etc,
She has been drinking lots.

I could go to the docs but I am reluctant as we go soooo much. Seems to be every week for someone. She went last tuesday when she had a very sore throat and gp said she had a throat virus, I took ds for an ear infection this monday, I went too and was told I may have a grumbling appenix. Plus ds2 has been a lot with his breathing since he was hospitalised for bronchiolitis. On top of all that the older 2 have asthma so we go for that

Should I take her again even though she has no temp, or just wait some more and see if she improves??

TIA

Could be threadworms. My youngest seems to suffer with this alot- ever since she started school. She loses her appetite ,has tummy aches and generally feels bleurgh. Also make poo bit soft and gloopy.
Has she complained bout itchy bottom? thats usually a sign too.
If you look at her bottom you might see tiny little things like white cotton or thread - sorry if tmi.
You can get liquid or tablets from chemist. You are supposed to do whole family and wash towels, beddingand jamas - has to be hot wash to kill the eggs or you re infect yourselves. I routinely dose us up every few months as she always seems to have them.

Thanks for answering

I have been studying her poo and haven't seen any worms. Will deffo try dosing her with some treatment if the gp doesn't suggest anything else. I decided today that I'll take her tmoro.

She has just been sick though Poor mite.

Oh poor thing- perhaps she has been coming down with something then and not the dreaded worms.
Hope you have a quiet night with her and she feels better soon.

Don't avoid going to the doctor because you've had to go a lot lately - it's just one of those things and you've clearly not been going for no reason.

Best to get her checked out.

I think she could do with being checked over by a doctor aswell. It's what they are there for.

and

Well we went this morning.

The GP said it was probably a phase and due to emotional reasons.... She said loads of children have phases of not eating and it's nothing to worry about. Well imo it is!!!
I mentioned the pale gloopy poo's and the sick and she said she prob had a virus, she didn't really connect the 2 things.

She did say I should go back if she doesn't inprove and they'd refer her.

I got the feeling that she was suggesting that dd was having tummy pain and eating issues as a reaction to ds2 being around

Currently dd is sleeping under a blanket on the sofa. Her choice. She asked to go to sleep
