She was really tired last night and went to bed early, woke in early hours with a 37 degree temp. Gave her Calpol and she got a bit more fitful sleep. This morning was pale and again tired. Complained a bit of sore throat but no other cold symptoms and again slept for about an hour.

Around lunchtime she perked up and ate something, we even went out for a little walk but since coming back she is zonked out on the sofa again, looking miserable and with another temperature.

If she had cold symptoms or tummy bug could understand it but really don't know what it is. No rash or anything. Can't be swine flu as had the jab.

Any ideas? I know....phone NHS Direct and intend to and keep an eye on the temp but I guess they may just tell me to keep an eye on her. Just wondered if anything going around?

37 not a temp, that is normal. I would keep an eye. Hope she better soon.

37's pretty normal as temps go.

There are always viruses going round and toddlers seem to pick them up quite easily. I'd prescribe tlc and a dvd personally.

It's also possible I suppose that she just had a bad night (nightmare or whatever and it woke her this morning) and is tired because of it.

In absence of any temperature and cold symptoms/tummy ache etc, I'd just keep an eye on her. She may have somthing mild or just be starting with a cold that hasn't manifested properly yet.

Obviously, you know your child and we can't see her but your op isn't ringing alarm bells here. See a gp if your spidey senses tell you she needs it.

Thanks ladies. She feels hot but yes 37 isn't really a temp.

Feel the back of her neck or use your lips to press to her forehead (as your hands might be cold and be exaggerating how warm she feels). This, to me, is a good gauge of how warm dd is. Also it's worth knowing what her normal temp is so that you know if it's raised or not.

Hope she perks up soon.

Dd2 is the same today, temp of 38, sleepy and pale, she has a slight cough and blocked up nose.

I'm just giving calpol and plenty to drink and hoping she feels better tomorrow (after a good sleep).

Hope your LO feels better soon.

I think there are just little bugs going around and a little tlc will sort her

Thanks - she's perked up a bit after a sleep although feels a bit sorry for herself. Lord knows what time she will get to bed now though since she slept most of afternoon!
