Chicken pox: How long do spots keep coming?

Hi there,

DS (2.9) is on day 3 of chicken pox and we had a fresh crop of spots overnight. I was just wondering how long the spots are likely to keep appearing for?

Thanks!

From vague memory, the whole thing lasts about 10 days, ie from spots appearing to it all going away.

Yep, it's horrid for both of you. But at least once it's over, it's over. We found a 'non drippy' calamine lotion, ie more of a cream much easier to apply than the traditional stuff, ask your pharmacist about it.

Oh yes, we've got that Calomine cream rather than the lotion, seems to help. Actually DS seems to be feeling OK, he's just absolutely covered in spots and it's crappy timing cos my MA dissertation is due in in 6 weeks time!
