Runny poos in toddler - when to go to doctor?

My 15 month old dd has had diarrohea on and off for about 8 days now. By that I mean, doing sloppy poos roughly 4 or 5 times a day.
I've been trying to give her plain food like baked potato, scrambled egg, yoghurt etc.
but she's really hungry so I'm running out of ideas and I'm not sure if I should take her to doctor. She's otherwise well, except for sore bum from all the poos. No vomiting, or fever or anything else...
Any advice gratefully received (first time mum, and don't have a clue sometimes )

Could just be 'toddler runs' I mind a 17 month old and the nappies have been horrendous for the last 6 weeks! Teething can make it worse, problem is that everytime he poos it leaks down his legs as his parents use real nappies and they just can't cope with his 'Power Poos'!

hi baby may haev an allergy to something i know of a child who if they have dairy eg normal yoghurts/butter/cheese/chocolate they will haev runny poos but can eat everything else.
Try natural butter dairy free youghurts but also get checked by the doctor. good luck

Thanks. don't think he's allergic to dairy, puss, since he's been fine on cheese/milk etc until now.
Ripeberry - yes, he is getting two molars at the moment so maybe it's teething. i never really believed that teething could give squitty poos, but maybe I need to admit I was wrong. Poor you, with your 17 month old. I admire all who use real nappies, but I'm secretly relieved that I don't!

We were told if the DC has had a bit of a bug or just teething tummy, it can create short term lactose intolerance. We cut/ down on dairy for 48 hours and that seemed to work.

Ds1 also had 'toddlers diarrhoea' was awful. Characterised by lumps of un-digested food and foul smell. Went on for a few weeks then just got better. I did take him to dr's after a week or so but they were not concerned and offered to do a stool sample after 2 weeks to test for bacterial infection which came back normal.

Ripeberry have a look on-line for how to do a runny poo fold with the cloth nappies. Its designed for bf new-borns but I don't see why you couldn't do it with the bigger nappies. It has a pocket to catch the runny stuff. Otherwise try putting a pair of old fashioned plastic pants over the top of the whole nappy.

Just found this thread as my DD (2.4) suddenly also having loose movements when she's always been fine in the past. Been going for about a week. Otherwise she is completely normal and as chirpy as ever. Nursery have said there seems to be something going around but seems to be going on a long time to me.

Will try to cut down on the dairy (although she loves it) and see what happens.
