PFB's first projectile vomit

dd is 7 months old on Monday, tonight I gave her home made cauliflower cheese, then a bath pretty much straight away as she was covered in food and then a feed of milk.
I got up (from feeding her sat down) to burp her as she seemed like she needed to and next thing you know there's projectile vomit everywhere.
She was pretty tired and I was going to put her to bed, do I need to keep an eye on her? I'm a bit worried she'll vomit again in her sleep or something.
She is otherwise happy, doesn't seem to have noticed she vomitted and was babblinmg away before and after.

Also I wonder what caused it, maybe I shoud have waited more before the bath (she had a right good time in there splashing about).
She's been formula fed so I don't think she has a dairy intolerance? It is the first time she is having cheese, and there is cooked "adult" milk in the sauce recipe.

maybe the cauli cheese, then the milk and then a vigorous bath was too much for her in a short space of time. Sometimes they are sick for no good reason. It is also a good idea to give new foods earlier in the day so that any reactions happen before it is time for bed - voice of experience here!!

aaah, "try it earlier" yes that sounds very obvious now you say it... thanks for reassuring me

yes lots of variables there

it isn't nice worrying about them being sick in the night - does she sleep on her back or roll around a bit? you could always put her on her side (not that she'll stay that way ) if it makes you feel better

there are also lots of bugs going round at the moment but if she's happy in herself, I really wouldn't worry. She might wake up hungry if she threw up everything she ate/drank. Might be worth having some water ready just in case.

It is quite shocking isn't it.

Hope it was a one off, but based on my experience of DS at same age I'd have lots of towels / washable blankets at the ready in case it's the start of a vomiting bug.

I find wearing a towelling robe is best for nursing / comforting a pukey baby.

Hope she's fine

fox hehe too late for the hair tip ;)

Thank you for your messages, we gave her water shortly after and milk about an hour after then she fell asleep for the night and has been fine since so far.
I think the cauli-cheese+bath+milk feed was too much in one go.
I'll try the cheese again in a few days (in the am!) and see what happens then.
