Dd1 seems ill, but cant put my finger on it. Could it be something more serious?

DD1 is 7, she had brochilitus (sp?) when she ws 3 months old and has been ill ever since! When she was about 2.5 had loads of tests done for her immunity, and cf etc. All came back fine, but now in France and she is 7now, and though seems to catch about the same amount of coughs and colds as ds2 who also had brochilitus as a baby, she just looks ill all the time, with pale sallow greyish skin, and dark hollow eyes. If I take her to the docs how can I explain that I just think she is not well?

Has been commented on at school that she was tired and sad, and not very willing to get involved, but I put this down to our house burning down a year ago, and us living in a mobile home. (All 6 of us - nightmare) Just moved back into house before Xmas, so I feel she should be happier and healthier than she looks. She is by far the best eater out of all my kids and eats the most veg and fruit etc.

Does she just need a vitamin or could there be more going on here? I am not a silly over paranoid mum, but I do trust my instincts.

If your instincts are telling you that something is wrong, chances are there is something wrong. I'd be very surprised if a bout of bronciolitis would still be affecting her nearly seven years on. Maybe she is anaemic. I'd take her to the doctor and ask for blood tests or some sort of tests anyway.

Definitely take her to doctor and ask for a full blood analysis. Don't let the GP (who is not a haematologist, most likely) dismiss the request. It could be nothing, but based on your description, I would insist on full bloodworks.

ponygirl , you could have described my dd [4yrs] - always very pale with red/dark circles under her eyes , she loves all fruit & veg & i have her on a multivitamin supplement , yet she catches every dose that is on the go in her pre-school , she has had 8 antibiotics in the last 16 weeks , i have been agonising over weather to take her to my gp again & ask for some tests to be done just because i am worried about her looking so sickly ,

Just wanted to add that I am sure she will get excellent care in France as you problem already know. Have you got a good paediactricain (sp?? sorry been a very long day!) She might be anaemic. I do hope she is okay and that you are reassured
