Rash after MMR booster

DD had her MMR booster on Tuesday and in the past couple of days her arm has gone red around the injection site and is itchy.

Is this a normal reaction? I don't think DS or DD have ever had any reactions to injections before. Have tried looking on the NHS direct website, but doesn't seem to cover this.

Thank you

Hi Noah, it's likely to be a local reaction and probably from injection technique more than anything else. Aash after the MMR can occuer around 10 days after the jab as that's when the immune response to the measles part kicks in - usually though that's generalised if it occurs rather than local to the injection site.
Am sure there must be MN practice nurses who know more about this stuff than me though.

PS - slight change of topic - but the latest NATW album is fab isn't it?

Thank you

What should I do if anything would you think? I presume if it gets bigger I should do something. She isn't really in discomfort from it - just mentions it when her arm is uncovered (which isn't much in this weather).

Just keep an eye on it I reckon and go back to see the practice nurse if it gets worse.
