strange bloodblister type lump on 5 month olds face

Hi,

2 weeks ago I noticed a strange dark blackish, greyish lump - very similar to a bloodblister , but definately UNDER the skin, on my 5 month old son's face, just above his eyelid below the brow bone, next to some visible blood vessels. I took him to the dr's today and he didn't know what it was, but said it definately wasn't a bloodblister and is referring us to an eye or skin specialist depending on what the hospital say. he also said it might be a pigment mass or maybe something benighn but definately get it checked out asap.
Now I'm worried! we have to wait until we get an appointmend now, which could be ages due to the season. SO, does anyone have any experience on this matter? any info would be so appreciated.
thanks so much in advance!

Used to work in dermatolgy. it could be a small haemangioma. They are quite commom. They are benign...but can last up to 5 years ,but will clear up on their own. Does it seem to be growing. Is it like a bad bruise colour, slightly raised and a tiny bit lumpy? do you have a picture
