Just discovered DS2 (5) has worms, he has been itching since yesterday.

Bearing in mind it's a Sunday tomorrow, how urgent is it that I see the doctor?

Never had to deal with this before, so have no idea what to do.

don;t bother with Doctor.

Go to nearest open pharmacy tomorrow, get OVEX medicine or suchlike, dose everyone that day. Make him wear pants in bed under PJ's, wash all bedding, damp dust, hoover,do not share towels, make him wash his hands when he gets up every morning , scrub under nails. Dose again in 2 weeks.

I just give Ovex to the ones with the worms (seen) or suspected worms (itching at night).
Remind to clean hands before eating and keep underwear/pyjama bottoms on at night. It does the trick for us.
I don't do all the washing/cleaning etc and haven't found it to be necessary.

Is there any kind of cream I can buy to stop the itching?

the medicine should stop the itching as it kills the live worms. Vaseline on his bum will stop the worms coming out to lay their eggs. HAve you seen the worms coming out?

Thanks.

Yeah I had a look last night around 9pm (he was up late, as had family round for boxing night) and could see a live one.

Poor thing he is wiggling all around on the sofa. I gave him a good bath first thing and all the washing is on.

THey don;t normally wriggle around during the day...you could try some Lanacane if you have some. He may have been scratching himself in the night and made himself sore
