9mo losing his voice

My ds is otherwise fin. In himself but sounds like he is losing his voice. He's really husky and can't really cry or make his usual noises.

Any ideas????

I'm dosing him on calpol as it usually works on most things.

Could it be the start of croup? If I'm remembering right I think my ds went a bit hoarse before coming down with it. I guess all you can do is keep an eye on him.
