Chicken Pox Cough - how to alleviate ?

Posted this on another thread earlier, but think its probably more of a question for here.

My 16 month old has chicken pox, he has coped with the spots really well, not really been scratching at all. However yesterday he developed a really nasty cough, so I took him to the doc's, who said that it was all connected with the chicken pox and would clear up by itself. He checked his chest and there was no sign of infection, so good news there.

Ive given him some honey/lemon/ glycerine medicine, but that doesnt seem to have helped his cough, any suggestions on what else I should try ?

His spots are all now scabbing over, so hopefully he is over the worse, but as we are planning on being away over Christmas, I want to see if I can help him with the cough.

Thanks a lot
