2 week old with cough and blocked nose

My dd has caught a cold. I'm not surprised, as ds and dh have both had it already.
Her nose is stuffy, although she is getting rid of some of it and she has a chesty cough which just sounds painful. It doesn't seem to be bothering her as much as it is us seeing her like this.

She doesn't have a fever but is just really unsettled with the difficulty breathing.

Is there anything I can do? I know there's no meds I can give her and have just sent dh to get some Nasosal.

my dd2 has just caught dd1's cold! she too is all snuffly. I have put one drop of olbas oil on her babygro near her tummy button and it seems to have helped. she is 5 weeks old.

what do we do if they get a fever with it? calpol only from 8 weeks?

I think I would probably phone the doctor if she got a temp with it just to be sure.

Will try the olbas oil, thanks xx

GP sent my DD to A&E when she had a cold at 3 weeks, just in case. You really cant rik a temp with a baby that young. Sterimar worked a treat, and make sure its infant olbas oil as the adult one can burn their skin x

I'd err on the side of caution at that age.

Steam is good relief, but if you are worried, see your doctor.

yes any temp call nhs direct or a&e - they can prescribe calpol at that age but they have to work out the proper does - you should never do it yourself

karvol do the plug in vaporisers which are great.

sterimar fantastic as well and yes infant olbas oil definitely.

seroiusly - any worries cal nhs direct or go straight to a&e - they will take everything you say seriously with a little one that young.

We're using Calpol's equivalent of Nasosal with our 13 week old. I'm not sure if it's helping but it's making me feel like I'm doing something.

We're also using Karvol drops on a muslin tied to the cot bars and I've bought a nasal sucker - sounds gross but means I can suck out any mucus around her nose because she's too little to blow it.

DD isn't totally blocked but was suffering from quite noisy breathing at night.
