Can severe wind be eathing to do with umbilical hernia?

Hi, My wee girl is 9 months now and suffers with severe wind. It's strange because she suffered very badly for months 3 and 4 and then things seemed to get better in months 5 and 6. She became much worse with flatulance in month seven and in month eight i cut out bananas which worked a treat. Now she is worse than ever. She passes wind very loudly through the day and burps a lot too, however after about 5pm she seems unable to get it out. Gripe water def helps the burps and prolonged massege helps a bit at the other end. It is horrible seeing her in so much pain. I have tried cutting out dairy with no effect. She also has an umbilical hernia and although my GP has said it has nothing to do with her tummy pain, I cant help thinking that it must. If a bit of bowel is squeezed out of a tiny hole the wind must struggle to pass through with ease? Does anyone have any thoughts on this? Thanks in advance for any help you can give.
