Can you get rubella if you've had all your MMR's?

Sorry to repeat-post but thought I'd try a more pertinent title! Will figure out what I actually want to ask in a minute

Just wondering about this, as ds2 has virus ds1 had last week and is quite spotty.

Ds1 has had MMR and booster. He had mild rash with fever and cold.

Ds2 hasn't had MMR, he's already had measles a year ago.
He has a much more noticeable rash, also had fever and cold but feeling much better now.

So I'm wondering if it's safe to take him out to town or whether it might still be rubella and therefore a risk to pregnant people. my thinking is that if ds1 had the same thing it can't be rubella. Unless the MMR really is that ineffective.

It is possible your DS1 could still have rubella, although I don't know the symptoms etc so can't advise you with that.

Thanks Crokky.

Hmm ds1 has a voucher for a book in WHSmiths and I need to pick up a (sale!) item from Hobbs.

Not sure whether to go.

Yes, the vaccine does not 'take' by everyone who is given it. but like others don't know the symptoms.

Ooh just googled it, it's NOTHING like as severe as on the wiki page

so I doubt it is

Thankyou though.
