Swollen, weeping penis.

DS (3) had a swollen penis yesterday, just the tip, it wasn't red just big, showed DH and he said it was normal.

Just took his pants off to put him in the bath and its weeping pus from the end and is a bit red. Have made an appointment for the docs, just wondering if anyone had any experience?

He's not complaining of it being sore, but it looks nasty.

All four of my DS's have had 'todger' problems like this. My GP reckons it because boys are always 'mauling' with theirs!! Once we visited the GP it was always quickly sorted out. Good luck.

Prob a infection. think i would do a shallow bath with some Tcp. Could you put some antiseptic cream on it?

LOL at mauling.

Have no cream, will have to wait till DH gets home to get some, DD is throwing up today.

Doc appointment is tomorrow so hopefully he'll do what he needs to do and it'll be fixed.

Ouch! Just realised that the cream could sting, but it will just be a short sting!

We did this when he said it was a bit sore and whacked some antiseptic on and in nappy where his willy would lie before bed. Clear next day.

My ds is constantly playing with bits when nappy free. Our problem is he has a bumhole obsession at the mo', so it's been a great lesson in hygiene and frequent handwashing. Has not learnt yet though...

LOL at 'bumhole obsession' boys are proper mucky urchins aren't they? Lovely though! I look after my grandson every day while his Mum goes to work - he's 11 months.

I put a cushion on the floor for him and he puts his head on and, as my DDIL quaintly puts it 'he humps the cushion!!' My DS1 says 'he is getting comfy!' I lurve little lads xx

He may have balanitis. DS2 has it because of a tight foreskin that gets bacterial growth under it and causes pus discharge that needs frequent antibiotic medication. Can your DS retract his foreskin and clean it? When he urinates does the urine flow cause the foreskin to ballon before it flows out?

The doc should know this. If not mention 'balanitis'. You need to get to an appointment to see the consultant at the hospital not just a packet of antibiotics. DS may require a circumcision (or just a small cut in the foreskin) operation if it is bad and especilly if it keeps recurring.

I posted in another thread a few days ago about it Here with some links to other threads I had also posted in.

Do make sure it gets sorted though as it can cause severe sexual health and relationship problems in later life.

Thanks all.

I was thinking about Balanitis BetaDad, I remember you mentioning it on another thread. His foreskin seems fine though, it's not tight and doesn't balloon when we he goes for a wee.

Will mention it to the doc though.
