DD (3) has vomiting bug since Tues. Vomiting every 2 days. Is this normal?

Hi, dd1 will be 3 on Wednesday. She vomited on Tuesday evening repeatedly so we took her to the out of hours, Dr. ruled out menigitis and apeendix etc and said either a bug or kidney infection but dd couldn't give a urine sample. Dr. sent us home saying if she got worse take her to GP. She was a lot better on Wed., vomited once so we didn't take her. Improved Thurs and Fri although not eating much. Then threw up massively on Fri night, ok saturday and seemed ok yesterday til she woke up at 3 and vomited all over the bed. Is it normal for it to be on and off like this or should I take her to the doc again. No temperature or other symptoms. DH caught the bug too but had diahorrea as well as vomiting and is ok now. DD suffers from constipation could this be delaying it going through her system?

Help. It's the first time she has had this type of bug and she is a small thin child with a poor appetite at the best of times.

Also wondering how long it will be contagious. She is already missing out on a little party with her cousins at my parent's house today.

MY dd had this last year, just about to send her back to school after 48hrs clear and then vomited again. Off 6 days in total cos she kept being better for a few days then back to square one
