One and a half weeks ago dd (2 and a bit years old) was really sick in the afternoon, and repeatedly that early evening. Slept ok that night, and had a reasonable day the next day, no more vomitting. Then the nasty nappies started - we had four days of that, during which time her behaviour was really out of sorts - tantrums over nothing, not really knowing what she wanted etc. We thought she must have been badly knocked by the bug so went with it - but this week behaviour has been different. Really listless/lethargic, and no appetite. She is usually so chatty and on the go the whole time, but today within an hour of pecking on some apple for breakfast she is asleep again. Yesterday she slept most of the afternoon and was so unresponsive I was really concerned. She had a temperature, and was just slumped barely speaking, so I rushed her to the GP who checked temp/looked in ears/throat, felt her tummy and said she was fine - slight temperature but just recovering from bug.

So - how long before my girl is back to normal? Will she ever be the same again?!! These two weeks feel like the longest of my life. Apart from the illness with dd I came down with the bug on Saturday, and have had really dodgy stomach ever since, and am bf my six week old son every two to three hours around the clock. Dh at work, so just me here with the two of them, and feel like this is what my life is going to be like forever!! Can anyone show me a light at the end of the tunnel?

My DD had a similar thing at about 16 mths and basically slept it off. Took her about 10 days from start to finish. Once she was back to normal I was secretly praying for her to be sleepy again (vv active chatty lively girl!)

If she doesn't improve though, go back to the docs (which I'm sure you would anyway)
