advice needed about DD's grazed knees

Yesterday DD aged 5.5 came off her scooter and has got a deep graze on her knee. We washed it as best we could in the park and when we got home she had a bath. It is oozing a watery liquid and there looks like there is dirt/gravel stuck inthe wound.
Should i just leave it to sort itself out or try more washing etc.
DD is very reluctant to let me even look at it.

A watery liquid from the wound is very common and not a problem. dirt in the wound however is a problem and could cause infection.
If it is very deep i would suggest just popping down to your gp to have it cleaned up.
Try bathing again, without any soaps or bath bubbles. if the dirt comes out then dab it dry, give it a wipe with antiseptic and cover it with a gauze bandage to prevent dirt getting in. do not put a plaster on it.
if in doubt, see a doctor

I would give another bath with whatever your equivalent of dettol is, (liquid antiseptic)
