My 2 year old has had very pale poo the last few days. Is this a sign of anything? I have just googled pale stools and really wished I hadn't as it came up with all sorts of nasty diseases. His diet is not great despite my best efforts so worried he maybe lacking in something??

Thanks. He has complained of a bit of tummy ache but nothing to make me concerned. Not poorly, no sickness or diaorreah. Will have to just keep an eye on it i guess and if it continues get him checked out. Should I take a sample with me if I go to dr do you think? I am guessing that would be one of the first things they would want??

if it is pale and fluffy/floaty/hard to flush away it can be a sign of dairy or other food intolerance (dd had this and is coeliac)it can be because the stools contain an excess of undigested fat. it might be a one off, if it persists get it checked out. If he becomes jaundiced (yellowing to skin or if he is dark skinned, the whites of the eyes) with it , get immediate medical advice as that can be a sign of liver problems (FIL just had this combination of symptoms and been very poorly)
