DD will only eat yougharts...

She is normally quite fussy, but yesterday and today she keeps asking for yougharts and will also eat crackers but nothing else, or very little of whatever else I will give her.

Not even her weetabix which she normally loves.

She has got a bit of a cold so I am putting it down to that and will see how she goes.

I have heard before that when you have a cold dairy can make your syptoms worse, is this true?

I would rather her eat youghart then nothing.

Hi, i have heard that yes dairy products can make the mucus produced by a cold worse but like you say you want her to eat something. How about a fruit puree dessert or something? so it's still a 'yoghurt' style but not dairy? i give my DD mashed banana and tell her it's banana yoghurt sometimes!

Good luck x

thanks, for your reply. my dd does not eat any fruit atall apart from bananas, I think it is something to do with the texture, I will try her with some and see how it goes.

Smush up some Farleys rusks and mix through a yogurt, they are fortified with lots of goodies.

I know this as my 13 yr old DD has an eating disorder, she has rusks. They are good.

Thank everyone, she seems to be eating more today, but the tip about the rusks is useful for future.

DD is 20months.

I'm glad she is a bit better.
Us mothers tend to worry over little things.

If she hasn't got all her teeth yet it could (and possibly was ) that pain causing her to not want to eat. Recommend giving teething powder/gel before meals. Just give whatever food you are having and fruit/something else she will eat but not yoghurt. IME it becomes habit for them to just eat yoghurt and learn quickly that they need not eat meals because a nice yoghurt comes if I leave my meal.
Children of 20mths have a strong survival instinct and will not starve themselves to death. They learn to eat whatever is infront of them.
This is speaking as someone who had a similar aged mindee who at no fruit except banana. No veg. Wouldn't chew meat. After 6wks with me she ate all fruit and after 3mths she ate whatever was put on her plate including moussaka!
