How can I help bf?

My bf's ds is 11 and has cancer whihc is not responding to treatment. He is now having a treatment regime which has never been tried before on children and if it fails there are no other options. They live 5hrs drive away and I have been down to see them a few times, I txt daily and call when they are at home not hospital. I know I can't really do much more but feel so desperate, wonder if I could send her something but dont know what. Sent him itunes card. Any oideas
