Teething 15 month old refusing to eat

DS had a tummy bug on Tuesday night - was sick about 6 times during the night, quite projectile.

Since then, he hasn't really eaten much, which I am putting down to teething. He is dribbling, bright pink cheeks, very runny nappies.

Straight after his sickness, he refused to eat anything (on the Wednesday and Thursday). Since then, he is interested in food, picking it up and putting in his mouth, 'feeling' it with his tongue, screwing up his face and spitting it back out.

He is on Ashtons and Parsons powder, which has helped with his disturbed night time sleep.

I have reverted back to blending foods, which he is eating. He has an appetite, but doesn't like the feel of more solid foods in his mouth. He is also hating having his teeth brushed, which isn't like him at all.

Combined with this, he also has a heavy cold and cough.

Anyway, bit of a rambled mess, but I feel a bit stupid blending foods again for DS. Has anyone else done this during teething? If so, did your DC go straight back to proper food, or did you have to introduce lumps etc over a couple of days? Have I made a mistake reintroducing purees? (But am so desperate to get some food in him!)

TIA

I did let DD have mushier meal options when she really wouldn't try anything else (cottage pie, soup with bread soaked in) but she went straight back to ordinary food afterwards.

Can't blame him if he is in pain when he tries to chew. I wouldn't go through lumps or anything once he is better. Just straight back to normal food

Sounds pretty sensible to me. I eat soup when I've got a sore throat.

Thanks for responding. I'll continue with the mushy foods until he is better.
It's difficult to ascertain whether it is the teething or the cold to be honest, or it could be both.
Hopefully he'll be back to normal foods soon, although I am planning lots of casseroles this week in case I need to blend at the last minute!
He's even refusing banana , so something must be hurting him to chew and swallow.

It may be worth checking for ear infection as well - that used to put her right off any chewing and swallowing

Does he show any sign of holding near his ears or anything (trying to remember how I spotted hers)
