How old is he?
Have you tried a nasal aspirator?

Just wait until he's three and he'll do this himself and snack on the evidence.

Does he like baths, water can help to clean the nose clear.

I've taught dd2 (17mth) how to blow her nose by taking a deep breath and blowing it through her nose and then i just wipe her face.

poor kid!
why on earth are you trying to stick cotton buds up his nose?
Just leave them alone and they will come out by themselves

I know some people think they're rubbish, but I've used it a few times and found so far that it can work when their nose is quite snotty (and is actually quite satisfying )

Although it will require his cooperation.

I know what you mean when they have a badly blocked nose and unable to breath.

I would try a hot/warm bath or shower if likes them as I know with dd's get water up their noses it makes them sneeze and clears the snot so you only have to wipe.

I actually think teaching a child to clear/blow theirs noses is the hardest thing to do.

Not sure i'm being very helpful sorry.

Im using a Nasal Aspirator ( or whatever they are called- We call it the snot sucker!)

My DD is 6mths old and has a terible cold at the mo.
Shes generally pretty good with it and kinda realises that it helps her breathe. The blocked nose thing is awful. DD is completely off her milk too as she needs her mouth to breathe from.. im lucky if I can get 1oz down her every 3/4 hours!

Anyway... I vote for the snot sucker! And agree its satisfying seeing it full or snot!
