Hello
my thre year old son Joseph has had a perforated ear drum since he was six months old he has green smelly gunk constantly pouring out of it, poor little man.
we are back and for to the hospital being given appointment after appointment, to be given numerous amounts of drops to put in his ear which never work, we have been told that nothing can be done until he is ten, as his ears will grow and any operation will be pointless at the moment. to be told we cant get it wet under any cicumstance raised the question, what about swimming and hair washes? we were told to put a ear plug in, which will either not stay in, or he takes it out

has anyone else had this problem and how was it resolved

thanks x

So sorry that your DS is suffering with this. My DT had similar problems when much younger but at 6 now they seem to have grown out of them. I know Mothercare do a shampoo shield, meant to be for eyes but sure you could use it to avoid ears too www.mothercare.com/Mothercare-Shampoo-shield-Blue/dp/B001AIVVHW/sr=1-3/qid=1234154705/ref=sr_1_3/280 -8920942-6038047?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=A2LBKNDJ2KZUGQ&n=42764041&mcb=coreI tried a cranial osteopath for DT1 with much success. You might want to think about seeing another specialist too for a second opinion. Best of luck
