Dd2 was given antibiotics on wed for suspected ear and throat infection, she started taking them thursday morning, this morning she had a realy bad nappy, not watery but smelt (like it does when they are ill), i stopped the antibiotics because of this and the fact the GP wasn't realy sure if she had any infection in the first place.

Anyway she's been ok all day, had her tee half an hour ago, just went to change her and yet another horrid nappy (sorry if TMI) but looked realy bitty like undigested food.

Is this just from the antibiotics? she seems well in herself, would the antibiotics still be in her system?

few, i was worried she was comming down with something else, i can cope with colds, ear infections but not D&V.

I think last time she had them (when she was a year old) she had to come off of them because they made her ill, just cant remember if it was diarhea .

How long before they are out of her system?

Should i feed her banana, toast etc?

can you get something like actimel down her? The gut will take a while to rebuild its levels of healthy bacteria. Worth asking Dr to put it in her notes for next time, sounds like she might have an allergy to these a/b's, and need diff ones next time.

Also avoid dairy apart from if you can get probiotic drinks.

Avoid wheat
avoid fruit except bananas,
try giving plain rice, toast, no fat or butter.

Plenty to drink.

Good idea, i have alergies to most antibiotics. i have a feeling these are the ones she had before which made her ill. Would natural yoghurt be ok?

Yes natural yog Ok, live is the best thing.

Just avoid other dairy like milk, cream, butter etc.

Live yogurt is ideal really.
