I am at my wits end with DD who keeps getting head lice. She is 13 and it has been almost a constant battle for nearly two years now. People say they grow out of it when they get to secondary school but she didn't get it until she was in year 7! I now have a nitty gritty comb which is much better than the rubbish combs you usually get with treatments. I also use their treatment as it's less chemical than hedrin etc (and smells nicer). I check her hair every week and she's now wearing her hair up at school (she prefers to wear it down but I've convinced her it's for the best), but they still keep coming back. My hairdresser said she could give me some peroxide as that burns them off, but it also stings the scalp so feels a bit extreme, but I'm getting desperate now!! Apart from cutting all her hair off (which she would hate, and she has lovely hair when it's nit free) I don't know what else to do. I feel like I'm going to be checking, combing and treating it forever!
