Any way to prevent chicken pox scars?

My toddler is currently covered in pox, mostly on her face. They're bigger on her face than anywhere else and I'm a little concerned that they're going to scar.
Anything I can do to lessen the chances? Applying virasoothe all day long and giving piriton and oat baths to lesson the itch.
Thanks!

My 4 year old has loads of scars. I wish I'd used calamine lotion...I tried poxclin and puriton but she was so resistant to letting me apply. Basically, keep her cool at night, apply calamine and do anything possible to keep the scabs on . 18 months on, my dd has around 20 pock marks on her face but about half have faded and the rest have turned skin coloured so are barely noticible.

Thanks! I wonder if I should have been using calamine lotion too. Most people seemed to recommended virasoothe so I stuck with that. My daughter's face has about 30 big scabs on it Sad
