What does DD have?

Just back from the doctors with DD2. She started getting what we thought were chicken pox on Sunday but the rash, although blistery on her bottom, has never got blistery anywhere else but she's covered in spots! After a good scour through google images I decided it may be impetigo which is what I told the nurse. The nurse said she'd never seen anything like it so brought in a GP who was also stumped, brought in another GP who is well known in our practice to be a bit of a know it all and not a great doctor and he was stumped but suggested possible thrush and DD2 was prescribed clotromizole. I really doubt it's thrush. It's on her face, hands, feet and legs as well as her bottom. Anybody here know anything about skin and be willing to look at pics to see what they think? DD2 is slightly more moany than usual but not off food, drink etc and generally fine in herself. Such a mystery and it's bugging me!

Hand foot and mouth? My daughter was covered in spots but they only blistered on her bottom and tops of legs.

Are there any ulcers in mouth? Lots of gps tend to miss it in my experience.

That was another contender for me elvisola but she's got nothing in her mouth and isn't unwell. The first GP said no to that suggestion too for that reason. I'm worried it could be something that will get too out of control before we get a chance to get on top of it. I can't believe between a nurse and 2 GP's they couldn't come up with more than the thrush diagnosis. I know they can't know everything but really!

It's really hard to describe rashes.
Has she been unwell in other ways?

I'll post some pics. She's been a bit more moany than usual but I think she might be teething. She's constantly chewing her fingers. So don't think she's unwell with it.

She's 1. I'm actually worried every time I put her down for a sleep at the moment just in case it's more serious than we think. That's not like me at all. I'm usually quite a laid back mummy.

Ah hand foot and mouth! No mouth ulcers though and she's not unwell? Go ruled that out because of that. She's got a sore mouth but deco teeth I've just felt them!

I agree it looks like hand foot and mouth. Some children aren't unwell with it and DS never got any spots in his mouth when he had it.

I think you're all right. At least if that's what it is she's not missing out on any treatment that she should be getting.

I would say hfm as well.
Gps do get it wrong sometimes. And there isn't always spots in the mouth sometimes just around which I see you Dd has.
My Ds was same gp kept saying it wasn't. Then Ds got really poorly usual for him with anything he gets. And got admitted to hospital were hfm was diagnosed.

These GP's couldn't even fathom a guess at what it was apart from thrush which is laughable so I'm very sure they most definitely have got it wrong! Sorry that happened to your DS one step. Should she be getting treatment for it then? NHS website says there's nothing.

Adding the the hand food and mouth chorus! It can be caused by different strains of virus which is why some kids get unwell and others don't. And not everyone gets spots on the mouth. Theres isn't a treatment as it just gets better itself. The only things to watch out for would be dehydration if she was too sore to drink but that doesn't sound like the case for your wee one. Hope she's better soon!

Looks like Hand, Foot and Mouth to me too, I know that you can have HFM without appearing particularly unwell and without having the blisters in all three areas.

No there isn't a treatment. My Ds ended up been dripped due to been dehydrated and low blood sugars through not eating and drinking.
Hope she's ok today
