Can you get pox on the tonsils? My 4yr old has chicken pox the last 12hrs about 100 spots appeared so far but she is complaining of sore throat and there is white spot on her tonsils. She had tonsilitis for 3 loong weeks back on Feb HT so I'm wondering if she vunerable to it, and at what point I bother the GP? As she ended up on 2lots of Antibios last time to try clear it.

Ds had spots all in his mouth, they looked really strange. I wouldn't usually worry unless there is trouble breathing, however if she really did end up on antibiotics (although surely that must be a secondary infection as I don't think chickenpox responds to antibiotics?) last time it might be worth phoning and asking.

Yep you can get them on your tonsils. My DD was covered too and had them in her mouth. We did end up at out of hours with her and Dr said her mouth had lots of spots too. Not much they could or would do but just told me to keep getting fluids in her. They did say they do admit for dehydration as a side effect of cp if children have lots of spots in their mouths as it can stop them from eating/drinking. Hope she feels better soon.
