RECCURENT BRONCHIOLITIS

I am in desperate need of advice 🙏🏻😩

My twins were born at 34 weeks and spent a short time in NICU. The came home and then were admitted separately with bronchiolitis at 15 days and 21 days old. They were in 2yrs in December. The first 12 months they had a few hospital admissions with bronchiolitis but this winter my one boy in particular has been in hospital pretty much every month since August with one bout of pneumonia in December. They have salbutamol, flixotide and Montelukast. He has had immunity testing which came back clear. Every single cold leads to bronchiolitis and hospital stays.

They are both under consultant care and we have an appointment tomorrow. My gut feeling is that there is an underlying reason/illness as to why he suffers so poorly and wondered if anyone else has been experiencing similar problems or can offer advice as to further testing that may be suggested???

my son had this. his immunology review came back with a certain white blood cell low count. He was started on prophylactic antibiotics and hasn't been hospitalised since. ask for the prophylactic. and check they have reviewed all of the white blood cell sub-types. and ask for copy of the results

My dd was born at 34 weeks and suffered bronchiolitis badly at 8 weeks old. She's now 3 and always gets a bad cough when she has a cold...it's that awful bronchi cough...but she manages to keep it at bay usually. I'm wondering if you lb has asthma

My son was like this. We were in A&E for salbutamol and montalukast about every six weeks for his first two winters. Then he grew out of it. He still gets wheezy coughs and lots of tonsillitis but we haven't been to A&E for a long time.
