Does this look like start of chickenpox?

We visited Doctor today on request of little ones school to have it confirmed and he said very likely but to watch and see really. It is going around her class at school. She has been unwell this past week or so and extremely irritable. No temp today when spots came out and she seems livelier! A few friends seem to think yes, chickenpox. What do you think?

Looks like it to me. Get some calomine cream!

Could be, especially if she's been unwell and grouchy. Where are the spots? They normally start on the torso.

Yes, my son 's started with a blister like that on his groin. The spots appeared very quickly just a few hours later. Oatmeal in a sock, swirled around in a bath, helps the itching. Thanks

Thought so! The spots don't seem to be appearing very quickly. Those are on her torso and she has one on her leg. Looks as though perhaps another faint one coming up on leg and underarm. Have calamine and oatmeal! Will give it a go :-) She seems a lot better today so fingers crossed only mild but we'll soon see...!

How were your little ones with it?
Thanks all.

Get calamine cream - not lotion. My ds was fine, quite a few spots but generally ok. Dd was horrendous for about 24 hours. She felt ill and the sheer amount of spots was awful. I put her in the bath at 2am with oatmeal in tights and it made no difference. I went to 24 hour Asda and bought everything going for her! Virasoothe was quite good but calamine cream worked best for her. The spots were in her vagina and soles of her feet, she really suffered yet ds was fine. Be prepared is my advice. Good luck!
