My daughter woke up at 1am with sick all over the place, she was then sick a further 8 times after that she was gagging but bringing up nothing, the whole time she was very lethargic and sleepy and i had to carry her to the bathroom, she woke up at 11am after sleeping the rest of the night but when i went to get her i noticed she had been sick in her sleep a few times, so far today she has only been drinking room temp water and shown no interest in food. She has been sick 3 times but its only little bits at a time, a rash has shown up on her left cheek i have pressed a glass against it but i have no idea what its supposed to look like?! Im starting to panic, she does seem to have perked up a lot since last night she nods when i ask her if shes feeling a bit better, shes walking around and playing with her toys for a little bit at a time, shes talking and singing aswell

Best thing to do is call 111.
Does the rash dissappear when the glass is pressed against it? If it doesn't then go straight to a Dr.

How old is she?

I'd get her to an out of hours doctor today.

There's a lot of sickness hugs doing the rounds, but better to be cautious.

Hi Amy, I know you are worried about this but people on mumsnet won;t be able to help or assess your child. The rash could be from her cheek being irritated by vomit. Or it could be a rash from another cause. If she seems brighter, I'd probably keep an eye on her temperature, feel temp of hands/feet, check periodically for rashes, make sure she is drinking some water and that when she goes to sleep she won't be on her back in case she is sick again.
If much more worrying signs develop, go to A&E but this wouldnt send me to A&E as you've described. Otherwise, I'd say watchful waiting, consider GP tomorrow but if better probably viral.
As above, I can't say any of that for sure on an internet forum, but it's good that she seems brighter now.

This is the NHS advice page for signs of a serious illness. Does she have a temperature? Rash should go when a glass is pressed against it.

If she is not going to the toilet to pass urine, I'd get her seen today. (I am assuming she is out of nappies otherwise I'd sayif her nappies are dry, get her seen today)

She doesnt have any other rashes on her body, her cheek goes white when a glass is pressed against it does this mean its ok? I put her to sleep on her side last night so she wouldnt choke, im letting her drink small amounts of water at a time. She hasnt had any bowel movements since last night, shes only 2 shes been sick before but never with a rash, she does feel slightly warm so i took her t shirt off but left her vest on and she has cooled down, im going to take her out in a buggy to get some fresh air soon should that be ok?

Amy as PP have said, even with a medical qualification it is impossible to diagnosis someone using Mumsnet. Please Call 111 who can do a basic assessment and direct you to the best solution.
If you don't trust the telephone assessments Google your nearest walk in clinic.
The rash disappearing doesn't mean it's necessarily ok it just means it's probably not meningitis.

She hasnt been sick for 6 hours now, im going to try giving her a bit of dried toast later, she had a bowel movement and that was normal, i dont really trust nhs 24 last time i contacted them about her high temp i was told to put her in a bath anyway it turned out to be croup and tonsilitis

Has she taken fluids today? Dehydration is the concern, as well as if there is something else medical going on?

How do you feel she is now?
