Chicken pox or Hand, foot and mouth

DD 3 had one single spot that looked like a teenager type spot under her nose last week (we'd been using cream round her nose to stop it from going red with her cold). Over the course of the week she's now got about 6 spots round her mouth and nose including some in her nostrils. She has yellow crusty stuff and it's red on the top of one ear where the ear joins her head. She says it's sore. One of her spots is bloody and crusty yellow. The rest are just red. It looks like she's getting a couple of bumps on her eye lid. She has a normal temp of 36-37 and has done for a week. Is eating and sleeping fine. Says she doesn't feel poorly.

I'm keeping her off the childminders tomorrow and the day after and we're not going out today. Really not sure what it is and how to deal with it. She says the spots aren't itchy and is in no pain or discomfort. The biggest problem is her green snotty nose and the trouble that causes with the spots inside her nose.

What illness does it sound like? What is best for it please?

I always thought I'd recognise chicken pox straight away but after a week she has none anywhere other than her face. Thank you.

Impetigo?

Dd2 has impetigo at the moment and it sounds exactly like that. She will need antibiotic cream from the doctors.

Honey coloured curating...impetigo.
Highly contagious, spreads like wildfire, will get much worse if not treated with the special cream.
Is itchy and can be sore.

I was also going to say impetigo and agree it needs antibiotic cream from the doctor.

Well that wasn't on my suspect list! Will Google immediately. Thanks!

Yeah her crusty spot does look like that. The others look like a cross between chicken pox and hand, foot and mouth so definitely another one to add to the possibilities list. Will the GP mind me taking her into the waiting room with whatever this is?

Well aren't you lot amazing! Got a call back from the nurse practitioner who recommended we go in. Was waiting for us in reception when we got there. Diagnosed... impetigo! We've already got Fusidic acid from previous skin issues so fingers crossed it will clear up. Thanks for the advice Flowers
