Please help toddler cut lip

Hi!

My ds yesterday was playing with a hoola hoop that nursery keep outside, he into a nurserynurses leg and has jammed the hoop into his gum, last night I checked and the bit that connects your gum to your lips between your top two teeth (sorry I have no idea what it is called) was split, I just gave him some calpol and put him to bed. Today I have checked and its now swollen and puffy and the connection bit is white and blistered should I be worried?! Or is this a normal healing process?

It's called the frenulum. Google "frenulum lip tear" it will reassure you I'm sure.
