11mo not eating solids

Hi

My DD has had a horrible cold all week and has been a little off her food. Yesterday she are barely any solid food. We have been feeding her more milk (formula) to get fluids and calories in to her. This morning she has had a 200ml bottle but won't touch her breakfast. She's never been a particularly hungry baby but this is beginning to freak me out a bit tbh. Might be worrying over nothing. Any advice appreciated.

My 13 month old has never really eaten. The hv, gp and dietician (he sees for cmpa) have all said as long as they are taking milk it is fine at this stage. Keep offering and keep the pressure and stress away from food. I've had a rotten cold this week and barely eaten so it's not surprising that babies go off food when they're ill too. Persevere. If you're worried, can you call your hv on Monday to put your mind at rest?

Thanks so much, that's reassuring to hear not eating is ok iyswim.

Yes I'll call HV on Monday I think unless she starts eating. She's taking milk thankfully and is OK energy-wise though not herself. Her cousin had the same thing last weekend and went off his food and he has a very good appetite normally.

Every time DS gets ill he goes off his food, I panic and worry he'll never eat again and wonder what I'm doing wrong and get all stressed.

Then he gets better and starts eating again.

It's fine, and it's normal and as long as she's still getting calories from milk there is nothing to worry about. (Easier said than done believe me I know!)
