Hi, my kids are 9 and 7, they both have a filling each. The dentist doesn't seem concerned and put it down to too much fruit!! They don't drink juice and are not allowed sticky sweets just occasionally a bit of chocolate. The problem is that their fillings keep falling out. Do they have special kid fillings which aren't as strong/well fixed as grown up ones? My dentist is from abroad and she doesn't always understand what I'm asking. Is it normal for children's fillings to keep falling out or shall I change dentist?

A quick web search indicates that fillings falling out is not at all unusual.

But if you're not happy with the dentist then I would find a new one.
