Ds is 2.2, nursery called this morning to say his genitals were swollen and purple, collected him straight away and took him to urgent care, it's actually just his willy that's very swollen and much darker than usual, urine sample came back clear so doc diagnosed as balanitis, ds doesn't seem in any pain or discomfort at all other than when doc was examining, there's no discharge and is weeing fine. Doc also said his fire skin was very tight and is likely to keep reoccurring so will prob need circumcision. He prescribed canestan ointment.
After consulting dr google I now feel like worlds shittest mummy! All I keep reading is about poor hygiene, ds is bathed every night but never done anything with his willy as all advice said not to!
What I'm asking is, does this sound like balanitis to you?( I just keep reading about the tip being swollen whereas ds is all swollen) the doc wasn't very thorough so didn't fill me full if confidence, I had to keep asking all the questions, he wasn't forward with any info! If it does, does anyone have any advice to prevent further episodes?
