1 year old fever for a week

DS had his injections last week on Thursday and has had a fever/flu like symptoms since then. First 3days his fever was really high and wouldn't shift with nurofen/calpol. We got checked out by GP and paediatrics at hospital but were told there was nothing else wrong and it was just jab related.
He had a day inbetween where he seemed better, no fever and was eating etc. Past couple of days he's just gone down hill and has a temp of 39.8 and can't bring it down. He's not eating and barely taking sips of water.
So my q is, is this normal for the MMR? Should I get him seen by a doc today? I haven't been able to get a GP app so will have to be walk in centre. I don't want to have to make him wait around as last week we had an 8 hour wait and it's unfair on him when he feels like this.
Am I over reacting? Should I just wait it out? Sad

I would go if it was my dc but I'm not an expert. Also if you called up the drs where I work I would book him straight in (no help to you I know but it's always best to get them checked I think)

Also his right ear is really hot but left ear not as much.

Spotty I wish we were at your surgery. Ours are so unhelpful

I would definitely take him you'll only worry otherwise. I once waited so long to take dd to the drs thinking it was vital and they nearly admitted her!

We have a policy to book anyone under two straight in.

Have you got an out of hours for when your normal surgery is shut?
They might be able to offer an actual appointment time if you do.

My DS had a fever for about three days a week after his MMR. He was really quite poorly too. In all likelihood it'll be MMR related but if I were you I'd check it out (I called 111 and they were quite helpful and put my mind at rest).

It's horrible isn't it? hope he perks up soon.
