You need to be asking you GP these questions and seeking reassurance from your HCP, but no, should be no damage to you DCs hearing. A perforated ear drum is nature's grommet. Anti biopics are routine I under 2s with perforated ear drums. You need to keep it totally dry though - no swimming and no water from the bath anywhere near it. No cotton buds!!

DS2 has had several perforated ear drums due to "silent" ear infections that we weren't even aware of. He has a tendency to get bad ears when he gets a cold.

They may or may not be damage to their hearing.

Ds had 8 perforations in 3 months and his hearing, when he hasn't got glue ear, is described by ENT "as good as any other child his age". Unfortunately when glue ear is bad, he can be pretty much totally deaf.
