Taking asthma inhalers DS 2.8

DS is 2.8 and was given blue and brown inhalers last year. He initially got on fine with the blue one but hated the taste of the brown one.

We haven't had to use either for a while but he's currently got a chest infection. He screams and screams and I end up having to pin him down.

We've tried bribes, doing it himself etc but he still won't take it. He's really wheezy tonight and needs it so I HAD to pin him down but he gets so distressed I just worry that he's never going to accept it.

Anyone had similar. If you had to force your DC to take it did the eventually accept the inhalers?

It has taken a good few years for my Ds to agree to take his inhalers (he is now almost 6 .

The best way I found is to sit them on your knee , place one arm across their chest to hold their arms down and if necessary one of your legs across theirs .
seems harsh but he will get used to it

Can you give him the spacer to play with or you use it first or use it on a teddy or something? That's how we got DS to take his. And we do the counting together.
