Dd1 (10) has a lump in her thigh

Dd1 told me last night that she can feel a lump in her thigh, I had a feel and there is a pea sized hard lump. She is worried about it so I have said I will take her to see the gp when I can get her an appointment.

When she was a baby I noticed a lump in her thigh, I took her to the gp and he said it was caused by her vaccinations and was completely normal, was told it would vanish. Could this be the same lump and if so why hasn't it disappeared?

When she had her first vaccinations she bled a lot ( she had blood running down her legs and I can remember being very worried, could this have caused scar tissue? Should we be worried that it could be something else?

It sounds to me like it could be a dermatofibroma (think I'm spelling that right!) I'm not medical, but I've had a few skin issues and lesions removed, and mostly that's what they've been. It seems that these little lumps are caused by some kind of past trauma, like an insect bite - though I guess vaccination could cause it too - and it sounds like maybe your dd's skin reacts in that way if she had a lump after her injections.

Obviously best to get a GP to check it out but don't worry, I'm sure it'll be nothing serious.

Thank you, I feel a bit guilty for not checking for it after the first time I took her to the gp, I just assumed it would have gone Sad, I will try and get her seen by the gp this week just to conform that what it is ( to put dd's mind at rest ).

Hi,my babies also had these lumps. My GP said one of his teenagers still had the lump from baby vaccinations so it's probably just scar tissue !

Get it checked but it's probably nothing. If it's in the area she had her vaccinations I would imagine it's definitely that.
