Antihistamine suitable for three year old?

My wee boy has chicken pox :(

I've read a few sources saying that you can give antihistamines to alleviate the itching, but all the ones in Boots say for over 6 or 12 year olds only.

Is it possible to buy them for three year olds?

Ask the pharmasict but most will be suitable or have a children's version.

I bought children's piriton for a one year old a few months ago. Probably have to ask at the counter. Not sure piriton will help with chicken pox though. Best bet is ask the chemist.

The pharmacist gave me piriton syrup for my son when he had chicken pox. He was about 18 months at the time. It does help with the itching and discomfort. It makes a lot of children sleepy but sometimes has the opposite effect. My son was one of the those and was still bouncing off the walls at 10pm!
