The skin is peeling off DDs fingers!

What the hell is this? On Monday she showed me two 1p size areas on her thumbs where the skin had peeled away. It isnt sore or itchy at all and she is well in herself. Now there are larger patches on other fingers. Almost looks like she is shedding the skin. Very bizarre. On one of the first thumb patches we noticed it is like the skin has grown back but saggy like a popped blister. We are off camping in the morning. Should I take her to the gp on the way?

Oh it is just on the palm side of her hands.

Did she have a rash and sore throat a week or two ago?

Hands peeling often happens after scarlet fever

Sounds very much to me like Hand, Foot and Mouth. Its a very common, mild childhood illness. My son had it and he had these blisters on the sides of his fingers and toes and the skin started to peel off. Interestingly he had no sores in the mouth at all so it was tricky to diagnose. We only knew because my friends baby had the same symptoms and we had played at the same soft play place together. Look it up on the Health protection agency website.
Otherwise, some form of dermatitis?

My hands are peeling too. They've been very sweaty, and I wonder if that's what has caused mine.
Wonder if its same for your DD?

Might be worth taking her to GP on the way, if only to ease your mind- you'll be worried on your holidays otherwise.

Crap just remembered it is Saturday tomorrow! Have to leave at 10 so no time for drop in clinic. Presumably it isnt anything too serious? No virus recently for her onoy her brother and that was just a fever.

I wouldn't worry if she is comfy, I'd just enjoy your holiday :)

Pompholyx eczema? Starts with small bumps / blisters on skin but then skin peels - but sounds mild (like mine). DD has developed it in the heat - first time - hands and feet covered in blisters

E45 or Dermol but can need a steroid cream if bad

Ah, just seen you said not itchy - maybe not
