Threadwords and tummy ache?

Anyone had any experience of this?

Discovered a couple of days ago that DS who is 11 has threadworms (first time). We have all taken the ovex tablets and are doing the hygiene things recommended.

He has been complaining of tummy ache for the last few days - is this likely to be worm related? It's tender when pressed he says.
