Oh lovely. Have seen posts from you before. You must be so worried. Where are you now?

dikkertjedap Thu 07-Feb-13 22:49:47

How difficult.

But if you don't have any place to live in Asia, would it be possible to stay in the UK with family until the feeding issues are sorted out?

takeaway2 Thu 07-Feb-13 22:32:50

But what about the underlying problem? Surely once the bug is gone there's still the problem of her not drinking/eating? Or has that been resolved?

Where in Asia will you be? Would it be better in Singapore/Malaysia?

OpheliasWeepingWillow Thu 07-Feb-13 22:14:42

Just is bad gastroenteritis / virus.

Has not had a bottle since Sunday.

We have no where to live in Asia. Are returning in two weeks. Should I take a frail baby on a plane??? We should have a services apt lined up but so worried now. She is teeny tiny and so wan.

sad

What are the doctors saying???

drjohnsonscat Thu 07-Feb-13 17:19:32

oh you poor thing. How awful. That's the last thing you needed.

Can you hold on to the fact that she had been doing well before she got this stupid virus?

I'm so sorry - it sounds never-ending and I have absolutely no experience to share (my two are heffers even if they do vomit left right and centre) - it must be so worrying and upsetting. I followed your previous post from afar and it just sounds really, really tough.

Can't add anything or help but just wanted to hug you x

OpheliasWeepingWillow Thu 07-Feb-13 12:42:55

She is still sick and in hospital sad

Hardly moving and just sleeping / vomiting

And we are being charged by the NHS - not important really but may bankrupt us.

She is so thin now. Like starving thin.

Awful.

Just awful.

When are you going back to Asia? (I'm drcrab name changed). Did you contact that chap in the end? What's the final diagnosis from the guy in London? I'm so sorry this is still happening. The norovirus will be over soon. It doesn't last long...

notapizzaeater Tue 05-Feb-13 19:55:17

Aw you poor thing, remember Your thread, must seem like one step forwards 2 back

JoandMax Tue 05-Feb-13 19:46:28

Can't do a long reply but DS2 was tube fed, zero solids til 18 months. He turns 3 next month and is fully self feeding now. It's been slow progress and immensely frustrating at times but his weight is good, his development has caught up and he eats, albeit quite fussy!

The gastrostomy was a life saver for us, it enabled us to get his weight up while we explored food at his pace with no pressure.

It is shit though and heart breaking so my sympathies to you xxx

OpheliasWeepingWillow Tue 05-Feb-13 19:40:00

Thanks AbbyCat - she won't take solids any more (since December) though

Seriously think we need some luck soon. Or a Noel Edmonds style 'Asking the Universe' solution at this point

AbbyCat Tue 05-Feb-13 18:34:15

I haven't read your previous threads but what you're going through sounds awful. Haven't much more to add really apart from wishing she gets better soon. In terms of getting her to gain weight, when ds went through a fussy stage, I used to add ground mixed nuts to his food (cereal, yogurt etc). They're full of good fat and calories!

OpheliasWeepingWillow Tue 05-Feb-13 18:22:03

Following on from the really long reflux thread around here somewhere (on phone) my DD had to have a gastrostomy last week because of lack of weight gain.

So far so good.

Two nights ago she gets norovirus and is in hospital on a drip.

Weight melting off her.

Honestly feel like I am fighting a losing battle.

Will she ever eat? Will she ever gain weight?

She's 12 months and 7kg.

Broken hearted for her and all her issues.

And now we have to return to Asia, cart all the medical kit there, find somewhere to live and pray she gains weight.

I'm just beside myself.

This probably makes no sense at all but needed to just vent at the unfairness of it.
