Experience of hypospadias with chordee

My ds was born at 28 wks and weighed 1lb4. First thing my SO was told when seeing his son for the first time was that he had hypospadias. Nearly 2 yrs later we have had the first op (at 15m old) to sort out the chordee (straighten it out) and are two weeks away from having the second and hopefully final op. We have been told he will come home with a catheter and all will be fine after that, but would like to hear from parents who have been through this already and what to expect the other side of the op. Can potty training then go ahead, should we expect any talks later on in his life about if he looks different from the other boys?
Have seen one post already on hear about spraying instead of straight peeing but would like a broader view than one person please.
Your help and advise would be most appreciated.

My son has it too. Fingers crossed he's finally corrected. He's had a rough ride as he developed lots of scar tissue so they had to redo it three times. He also developed a blood clot after a redo of the first stage and Great Ormond Street said he was the first child they've taken back into surgery with a blood clot. He's been very unlucky.

I won't lie the week with the catheter is tough. DS had lots of drugs and they prescribed diazepam which helps with the bladder spasms (and chills him out!). But after the catheter was taken out he made a really speedy recovery. Had to stop climbing trees etc!

Potty training was fine. He couldn't wee standing up until the 2nd correction.

My son has mild hypospadias and quite extreme chordee (bend). He's a month old and I'm really concerned about it. I can't find much positive online about results post surgery and I'm worried it will affect his confidence when he's older. It makes me so upset to think he'd ever be embarrassed about a part of his body. Anyone experienced this and happy to share information on how the op turned out? Thanks in advance.
