Stinky vile burps after vomiting bug

My dd had a upset tummy and was sick several times early Saturday. Slept it off and actually well enough to go for a walk Sat pm. Fine Sunday and back to school yesterday. She came home from school looking flat but not feeling unwell but this morning had a bit of upset tummy again so I have kept her at home. The thing is she now has the most revolting burps (smell like dreadful fart) and we have not had this before. We don't normally get tummy upsets but is this normal??

I would like to add she sees quite well in herself and chirpy and now I feel bad for having sent her back yesterday..... does it mean the bug is coming back?

Honest opinion? I'd be more concerned about her classmates if I was you...really didn't do her or anyone else in her environment a favour by sending her back barely 48 hrs after she first started vomiting.
School rules are very tough on v&d bugs and don't allow the child to return until they've been back to normal for at least 48 hrs.

Quite normal for after a bug - horrible sulphury/eggy ones.

I would keep her off until well, eating ok and having normal poo TBH. DD has the same and that's my plan at the moment. DS has been having symptoms on and off since last Wednesday now - they are not really 24hr bugs IME but the worst of the vomiting tends to be in the first 24hr.

I thought the rule was 48 hours after last incidence - which I did, almost to the hour. Actually I would never break the 48 hour rule as I have a diabetic dd and bugs are a massive prob for her. What I am saying is she was fine, sat pm, sun and chirpy mon morning and so I sent her in. She is eating well and drinking well, doesn't feel unwell so really I don't think I broke any rules here. I do feel very strongly about protecting others, I actually had a row with another Mother who sent her child in the next day as she was 'fine' I did explain the rule was there for the classmates....

I actually called the doc this evening and asked and she said no, not infectious as I was concerned. The smell from burps is not the bug but the lack of good bacteria because of the bug, quite a different thing.

Hi there, DS was sent home on Wednesday with a vomiting bug and I kept him off Thurs and Fri, even though it was over 48 hours. Mainly because he hadn't eaten and I really didn't think he was well enough on Friday.

Anyway, he's been fine until today. He woke up today doing vile eggy sulphur burps and has had the trots this evening. I'm not sure if it's the same bug and whether he needs to see GP or just fight it off himself. He is usually very robust and hardly ever gets ill.
