My dd (2.3- already complex needs) hasn't always had the best of appetite since coming off weaners ( which was at 1) she eats very tiny portions of 'adult food' before saying no she's not hungry. When in fact she still is. She doesn't say shes full as she doesn't fully communicate like that but pushes the plate away! After spending a year doing the ' leave and she'll eat when she's hungry' technique we've got nowhere an now blend her food and use weaner jars when out. We have seen a neurologist and he has referred us to speech therapist and said we can continue to feed her blended food. Has anyone else come across this issue?? Exp won't even feed her blended food as he says it's 'weirdd' which I suppose it is if we don't no what it is! Any ideas. .

Not the same but my dd2 would only eat totally mashed up stuff-the 4 month bought jars, or finger food. She wouldn't even eat stuff we'd made and blended ourself, it was too lumpy for her. That lasted until she was about 2yo. every meal time was a struggle to get her to eat more than two bites.

I don't think it's weird, and I wouldn't do so if i saw you doing it either.

She's now 9yo and eats anything and everything, whereas my dd1, who ate brilliantly as a baby/todder, will only eat about 6 things, and 3 of those are under sufference.

I did this apparently, my mum and grandmother used to feed me milkshakes with a raw egg in it. Not that I would recommend that. Paediatrician said to give me exactly what I wanted providing I ate it at the table on a plate. Even if it was just smarties. I eat like a horse now and am not fussy.

tyger we have been give the same info within reason. She cannot use cutlery so have to feed her but we give her wat she will eat (although I am very strict with puddings so ATM there a no no while she' doesn't finish dinner) she eats everything and everything blended! Neuro seem happy about it so hopefully something will get sorted! Shame I can't say the same as her dad who point blank reuses to feed her blended. Food so as usual she has come back barely eaten! Angry
