Ear infection with no high temp

HI
My ds has had grommets three years ago, and they are still in place. Before he had them he used to get loads of infections but always had a high temperature with them. He has been saying his ears are hurting for a few days and has been under the weather, but no high temp. Tonight he has been screaming with the pain and really distressed by it until we gave him calpol and a hot water bottleHmm I was just wondering if any one has know of a ear infection with no temp. BTW his ears really smell as well but they are not weepingConfused

I would take him to the GP - just to be safe. Just because he has grommets it does not mean that it will clear by itself. He might need antibiotics.. My DS had grommets as well but his have already come out.

ds got loads of ear infections with high temps. Then dd came along and when she was a toddler she was a bit under the weather and I brought her in after awhile to the gp. He looked in her ear and said that she had a raging ear infection and why hadn't I brought her in earlier. She only had a temp of 100, which for ds wasn't even a temp at all, so I didn't even realize. She is now 8 and ds is 10 and it still holds true. He gets high temps with ear infections and colds and pretty much anything. I don't think she's gotten over 101 more than once or twice ever.

Prob possible if his immune system is not very strong and not reacting that well, could be a worry as the infection would creep up undetected, hot water bottle would be OK in a small way as it would raise the temp to fight germs (as if he had temp).

No idea what would help in your case, but I found on my ds that he was Zn deficient (strongly linked to poor immunity), so added Zn supplement which helped overall. He is also gluten free, which helped him in a big way on immune front, but prob not relevant in your case.

What worried me is the jabs
